The EQSP Board of Directors may form any committees it deems necessary to advise and support the work of the EQSP staff. The EQSP Board of Directors has formed four committees to advise and support the work of the EQSP team:

1. Advisory Committee

The Advisory Committee’s primary mandate is to assist the EQSP staff in developing and updating the Quebec Pork Industry Emergency Response Plan.

2. Health Technical Team

The mandate of the Health Technical Team is to collaborate with the EQSP team to advise the Board of Directors on swine health issues within the organization’s mandate for reportable animal diseases and emerging diseases.

The committee’s membership is essentially the same as that of the MAPAQ Pork Network with the addition of a veterinarian representing AQINAC and the Team Leader appointed by the Board of Directors.

3. Committee on Swine Endemic Diseases (CMEQ)

Under the guidance of the EQSP Board of Directors, assist in the coordination, development and implementation of actions that will contribute to the provincial strategy aimed at generally improving the health status of Quebec swine herds. More specifically, see to guiding, developing and recommending actions on issues related to improving the health of swine herds in relation to endemic diseases.

4. Advisory Committee on the Judicious Use of Medications (CCUJM)

This committee is an advisory committee of the Research Chair in Meat Safety at the Université de Montréal. The mandate of this committee, in conjunction with the EQSP, is to support approaches to the proper use of veterinary drugs for the Quebec swine industry and to act as an advisory committee on this issue.
