EQSP Committees

The EQSP Board of Directors may form such committees as it deems necessary to advise and support the work of EQSP staff.  The Board of Directors has formed four committees to advise and support the work of the EQSP team:

1.     Advisory committee

The Advisory Committee’s main mandate is to assist EQSP staff in the development and updating of the Emergency Measures Plan for the Quebec pork industry.

2.   Technical Health Team

The mandate of the Health Technical Team is to collaborate with the EQSP team to advise the Board of Directors on swine health issues within the organization’s mandate for reportable animal diseases and emerging diseases.
The members of the committee are essentially the same as the MAPAQ Pork Network with the addition of a veterinarian representing AQINAC, a representative from the Centre de développement du porc du Québec (CDPQ) and the Team Leader appointed by the Board of Directors.

3.   Committee on Endemic Swine Diseases (CMEP)

Under the guidance of the EQSP Board of Directors, assist in the coordination, development and implementation of actions that will contribute to the provincial strategy aimed at improving the overall health status of Quebec swine herds. More specifically, to guide, develop and recommend actions on issues to improve the health of swine herds in relation to endemic diseases.

4.   Advisory Committee on the Judicious Use of Medications (ACUJM)

This committee is an advisory committee to the Research Chair in Meat Safety at the Université de Montréal. The mandate of this committee, in conjunction with the EQSP, is to support the proper use of veterinary drugs for the Quebec pork industry and to act as an advisory committee on this issue.
